Halebop launches podcast created from recorded phone calls

Halebop uses the phone calls of ordinary Swedes for its new podcast initiative, Bopcast.

Halebop describes Bopcast as a completely new type of podcast where the content is sourced from everyday phone conversations. The podcast is a tribute to free conversation and invites anyone who wishes to record their phone calls directly on their mobile device.

– With Bopcast, we want to celebrate all the funny, sad, happy, and emotional phone calls out there. Getting the chance to listen in on some of these conversations feels a bit like eavesdropping as a child when you’d lift the landline receiver at home. But this time, it’s with consent, says Emma Yderbo, Marketing Manager at Halebop.

The episodes are shaped by those who choose to record their conversations; as a result, they will vary in length but will be released weekly. While some moderation will take place, the goal is to feature a diverse range of voices uncensored.

The campaign was developed by Obeya and Perfect Fools and is running across social media, YouTube, TV4 Play, DOOH, display, radio, audio ads, and podcast collaborations.
