Visit Finland chooses Obeya

We are very excited to announce a new partnership with Visit Finland, aiming to attract more Swedish tourists to the country. "Obeya truly stood out among the other agencies in our procurement process," says Sari Hey, PR & Media Manager at Visit Finland.

– Finland is incredibly "hot" right now among those in culture, design, and fashion. We want to broaden that image and make it accessible to more people. Many Swedish travelers still hold an old and outdated view of our neighbor, and we want to try and change that, says Maria Hazard, CEO of Obeya.

The assignment consists of strategic and creative work on how Visit Finland can communicate in the Swedish market to encourage more Swedes to visit Finland year-round.

– Obeya truly stood out in our procurement with their creative way of developing solutions from unexpected angles, achieving very impressive results. We haven't been active in the Swedish market for several years and now need an agency that can think fresh and put Finland on the map as a travel destination, says Sari Hey, PR & Media Manager at Visit Finland, and continues:

– Finland has so much to offer, and with the pandemic, there is a lot "simmering under the surface" just waiting to be discovered, whether it’s outdoor destinations or art exhibitions waiting to kick off. Internationally, we are a popular destination and many nationalities are curious about us, but in Sweden, we haven't historically been good enough at telling the story of what exists beyond the ferry terminal, saunas, and hockey matches.

During the first months of the year, other new clients include Mångkulturellt Centrum, the innovation festival Gather, the Swedish cleantech company Evias (which recently launched technology for electrifying roads), and the architectural firm MER.

Obeya's existing clients include Halebop, Cancerfonden, Manpower, and Riksteatern.
