Afripedia launches curated database of African creators

It’s finally here! Today marks the launch of Afripedia, the world’s first curated talent database featuring African creators. We’ve had the great privilege of working both strategically and operationally on the launch, as well as managing media relations before and during the debut.

The goal of Afripedia is to make it easier for clients to connect with creators of African descent, while also broadening representation in an otherwise homogeneous culture and media industry. The platform aims to showcase the creative breadth found within Africa and the African diaspora.

– We started Afripedia as a way to increase the visibility of creators of African descent from all over the world within film, design, fashion, and production. It is a curated platform that will maintain a high standard of content and challenge stereotypical views of African creativity. Our platform will eliminate the excuse that one "couldn't find" professional African creators to hire for their productions, says Teddy Goitom, one of the founders.
